Awards Success

Central Flooring Services have been invited to The Houses of Parliament to collect an award for their services to the Environment. We recently completed a project whereby we investigated new possibilities to save time, energy and money. We managed to hit all three targets, and for our efforts we have been rewarded.

We saved nearly 4000 man hours, in excess of 1200 litres of fuel, and recycled over 330 tonnes of waste and took nearly 3 months off the programme saving the client money.

Our contract was to remove a 38mm thick asphalt screed, and the only way was to use manual labour and hand tools. we knew we had to think outside of the box in order to increase our level of service to our customer. Other flooring contractors still rely on manual labour and hand tools, but we knew we had to change the way we work.

We spent time researching new methods and finally agreed on the the use of a £500,000 piece of machinery that could answer all our requirements in one go. Luckily the machine could be hired for the duration of the works enabling ourselves to use such machinery for a set amount.

We cannot put a figure on the possible fatigue or accidents that may have occurred if we had used the manual method of removing the screed.

We have now set the standard for our industry and already we have since used this method on another project.

We always strive to deliver a first class experience for our customers, and we believe its not only the solution but the service.

We would welcome the opportunity of visiting any members facilities to offer free advice, this can be safety floor demarcation, floor slip testing, and any other flooring solutions you may have. We also supply flooring materials for your own use, this saves money and allows you to utilise your own labour.

This is a free service to Made in the Midlands Members, if we can help, we will.
